Retention

Retaining great talent is key to the Ragon’s success. It is important that we find ways to identify and celebrate members of our community who are going above and beyond, and then take deliberate measures to nurture and inspire them to continue their career at the Ragon. This can be done via constructive feedback, employee appreciation programming, career pathing, and more.

Performance Reviews

The annual review is one way that members of the Ragon community receive feedback. There are different types of performance reviews based on role:

  • Annual Career Conference (ACC)
    • The Annual Career Conference, which takes place on the faculty’s date of hire anniversary, is an opportunity for all benefits-eligible faculty who are employed directly at by the Ragon Institute of Mass General, MIT, and Harvard
    • Process Re: Annual Career Conference

  • Annual Career Plan (ACP)
    • The Annual Career Planning Meeting is a necessary component of the annual review process for MGH/Ragon Postdoctoral Research Fellows and should be completed annually at least thirty (30) days prior to the Postdoctoral Research Fellow’s hiring date anniversary each year.

Feedback

Providing feedback outside of an annual review is also important. In the future, the Ragon HR will be developing resources to share in this space; in the interim, we have collated some resources from our member organizations, as well as other venues, to share.
