Unconscious Bias (Live Session)

If you are human, you have bias. But why is it so easy to spot bias in others but not in ourselves? In this 1.5 hour virtual program, we will recognize clues that help us identify our own personal biases. Together we will explore why have bias, how bias shows up in our day-to-day lives and what we can do to mitigate our biases. This is a foundational workshop that will look at the many biases we encounter each day.

Creating a Welcoming Environment for LGBTQ Patients, Visitors, and Staff (Online)

LGBTQ people, and transgender people in particular, face multiple health disparities and often experience stigma, discrimination, and lack of access to quality care. This disparity is highlighted particularly with the unique healthcare requirements this population may need. As members of a healthcare organization, we have a role to play in offering an inclusive experience for all patients, visitors, and fellow staff. Everyone, no matter their gender identity or expression or sexual orientation, appreciates friendly, courteous, and effective care. While we at the Ragon are not in a hospital setting, we still have patients coming to our clinic for our trials and ur commitment to caring for all remains part of the mission of our organization. In an effort to reduce these disparities, this course introduces concepts related to LGBTQ people and reviews ways to interact with them in an affirming way.

Working Together Inclusively (Online)

The Working Together Inclusively learning series is designed to provide all Mass General Brigham employees with knowledge and skills to address various forms of systemic oppression within the workplace.
